A Mother’s Dash
As one of The Dash “take off” poems, A Mother’s Dash was written to honor those who are often taken for granted in our lives. Many “dashes” cross our paths as we move forward through life’s journey. Some become lifelong friends, some fleeting acquaintances. But there is one special dash that stands unwavering through the years … a home base to always return to … a foundation.
I’ve discovered that those readers inspired by this poem can be divided into two categories: Those who reminisce about the wonderful legacy of love left behind by their mother … and those who are reminded to love and appreciate her, today and every day.

We had my mother’s funeral today, and they read your poem the dash. I really liked the poem and was looking to get a copy of it, and saw that you actually have a mothers dash, is it possible to get a copy of it? I keep pressing the arrow up top, but nothing seems to appear.
I also couldn’t find it in the store, just “the dash” items.
Thank you for time.
I too would love to see a Fathers Dash. The Dash is the poem I read at his funeral, and I’m sure on dedicated to strictly fathers will be even more heartwarming. Thanks for writing such beautiful poems. Out of curiosity how did get so well known? I am an amateur writer, only in grade 12. But I would love to further my writing. Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks so much.

Just wondering when you will be coming out with the Fathers Dash?
Hi Kelly — thank you for asking. I am going to be taking (soon) a much-needed writer’s vacation, so to speak. I am going to write it then. I need solitude…and quiet. My office here in Atlanta offers me neither!
I hope you enjoy your vacation and I can’t wait to read The Fathers Dash when you are done. The Mothers Dash really spoke to the relationship I have with my Mom. I lost my father last summer and I’m sure when I get to read The Fathers Dash it will say alot about my relationship I had with him. Thank you for writing back and continuing to inspire the world.
